I'M NOT DEAD YET. I FEEL HAPPY! I FEEL HAPPY! - 06/06/05
I understand Megan has had a few emails from cast members, and it's completely understandable to wonder what the heck happened to that one movie about that dude with the powers? As of today, I am on page 42 of the second complete-start-from-scratch-from-a-blank-page rewrite. I received input on the script from several sources and I deemed it necessary to do some major retooling. Sadly, some things are gone now, mainly that Murphy is no longer a clarinet teacher, so any and all scenes related to that scenario have now been stricken from the record. Don't fret as I am trying to find a way to use all of the people already in the cast. Being the optimist that I'm not, a start date for the new script is tentatively scheduled for sometime in September or October. As for those not in the know, I have relocated to McKinney, TX(just north of Dallas). I am still planning on shootng the movie in Austin. For those of you still sticking with us, thank you for your patience and this movie is still going to happen!
Oh, WOW! - 03/08/05
Many thanks to Brian(aka Murphy) who came up to Austin this past weekend and pestered the snot out of me. It was his B-Day on the 5th, so everyone tell him, "Happy Birthday!" For two days we discussed the script and myriad of problems it has and how to go about fixing it. Many suggestions have been thrown in the hat as to what to do. I can happily say that the outline is in the can. I started the treatment last night, which is basically taking the outline and fattening it up with what goes on in the scenes and having a complete story before committing it into screenplay format. I have to say that I am liking what I'm writing and I will hopefully keep as many cast members as I possibly can. If anyone is keeping up with the site, "Hello, thanks for dropping by. Drop me a line and tell me what's going on." That's all for now...
BRINGIN' IN THE NEW YEAR - 01/10/05
I believe some of you out there may be asking, what is going on with this movie? I'll tell you that it would be well on its way if it were my full time job. We all have to maintain "normal" everyday jobs to keep a roof over our heads and food on our plates. The movie is on, and as George Lucas said in a recent documentary, "By hook or crook," we'll get it done. I have no doubt in my mind it will be completed this year. We are still seeking out funding and I am contemplating more rewrites, which will probably happen up to and during production. We are closing in on this one folks and it's going to be a great film and I thank everyone that is involved in it now and forever.
LONG TIME PEOPLE! - 11/12/04
I figured I should put up something on the site. Check the homepage and the extended 10-minute trailer is up. It is in long form and it will be cut down tremendously. I just wanted something to show at the fundraiser and that was it. Everything else has pretty much come to a halt. I've pretty much been comatose for a month and have done absolutely nothing but work at my seasonal job. Once the trailer is cut down more, I will start sending out DVDs to people that will hopefully want to see the full picture and it will become a reality instead of just a dream in my head.
NEWS FROM THE FRONTLINES - 09/27/04
Scene 45 is now up online. I have to just throw out there that these are very rough cuts, no music, no sound effects, basically just experiments. I'm just putting something up on the site for you hard-core fans. The fundraiser is officially set for OCTOBER 17th at Antonio's on 35 and 183. When I have the exact time info, I will post it. Enjoy the new footage and I will now crawl back into my hole and keep noodling with the footage...
MUSINGS - 09/16/04 3:32AM
Oh, joy. We had a very productive four-day shoot. The extras turn-out for both parties was less than stellar, but we used what we had and the footage turned out better than expected. I would like to personally thank every extra that did show up and help out in the capacity that they did. Brian has returned to Houston and shooting is pretty much at a stand still. I still need to go to the junior high and high school girls' homes to film their one-liners. Then I should have what I need to cut the trailer I envisioned. Right now, I'm sitting on about 9 hours of footage! All that hard work to be cut down to something under two minutes. I am stoked to get started editing all this stuff together but am overwhelmed as well. I'll just put my head down and charge on through. Thanks everyone for putting in your time and energy into making this thing come around.
P.S. We now have a venue for the fundraiser and that will be happening in October, so I had better get something edited!
ATTENTION: FUNDRAISER on OCTOBER 17th at Antonio's

$5 charge at door. Donations and investment opportunities available at a table inside. We will be giving away door prizes and holding a silent auction. There will be live bands and cash bar. Please come and enjoy the festivities and clips from the movie.
NO FUNDRAISER ON 09/12/04
The venue we had set to use for the fundraiser fell through so we are having to field new places. If anyone happens to know another place where we can hold it at a future date, it would be greatly appreciated. The place will preferably be a bar or restaurant with a stage for bands and adult beverages for the guests. After all, the venue needs to make a profit. I appreciate any help and further details on the fundraiser will be sent out and displayed right here on this very page!
Shoot Schedule for 09/12/04 - 09/14/04
I am getting ambitious and anxious to get the footage for this trailer shot, so I am shooting two parties scenes this "weekend." I put that in quotes because I am filming one party scene at a house on Lake Travis on Sunday night from 8pm until Midnight. We will need about 30 extras to fill space, as well as the principal actors. More news and directions to the location as soon as I get them. A second party scene will be shot at my very own house on Monday night 8pm until Midnight. Bring a friend. If you have a copy of the script, the scene on Monday night is 30. The Scene Sunday night is 39, which you will notice is supposed to be at a bar. Well, pffhgt! I'm changing it to be a house party and it will work just as well, for the trailer at least. Get the word out in the next few days and let's get this party started!
As for Tuesday the 14th, it's a very low key scene not in need of extras, just didn't want you all wondering why the 14th is listed, so there!

Update - 9/06/04
Well, poo. Brian drove up from Houston yesterday all prepped to shoot a bar scene at a certain bar(won't name names) and I had 3 other actors set to go and 5 minutes before we were to arrive, they cancelled on us. I was hoping for more footage in the can, but it didn't happen. Brian and I did manage to pick up a few close shots of him here at my house so the day wasn't a total loss. It doesn't look like the fundraiser will be happening on the 12th, because we haven't gotten the word out and it looks like that will need to be a shoot day now. I'm going to tentatively say September 19th will now be the fundraiser day. I will have to discuss that one with my producer. Other than the bust, things are looking well. Yay!
Get your red hot footage from the trailer right here, raw and uncut.
Some stills pulled directly from the footage shot August 27th through the 29th.
Director's Log - Star Date 29 August 2004
Ok. Crazy weekend. I've been told to update the website with more pics. Hold your friggin horses! It has been non-stop crazy for the last 72 hours. My eyelids are slowly snapping together at this moment and I'm only held up by my spine. I shot close to 5 hours of footage this weekend. I had to compromise a few things and I'm not happy with that, but what can you do? I think 80% of the stuff I shot was golden. To everyone that came out to be an extra, I salute you. A big shot out to my main man Ray Haye at Black Bart Books who allowed us to use the space for some scene and it was awesome. I've been up a long time and will have to continue this craziness later!
ANNOUNCEMENT - 8/25/04
Short notice to every and all actors involved in this project. The lead actor, as well as myself, is a struggling artist and is driving up to Austin every weekend from Houston, and our funds are pretty much nonexistent. We are going to pull a fast three-day shooting weekend this weekend and try to cram in every imaginable thing we can into 3 days. Everything at Murphy's house will be at my house. Everything at my house I am going to do my darnedest to shoot this weekend. If we can get the bar this weekend, awesome. If we can get the restaurant this weekend, awesome. We will try and shoot them. I need everyone to email me availability for this weekend. Friday 8/27 through Sunday 8/29. Any extras that happen to read this announcement, include availability for this weekend. More info to come...
Note from Director (8/16/04)
I could try and rack my brain for better ways to spend a Sunday afternoon, but I would hard pressed. I spent the better part of 5 hours with 8 lovely ladies that I have cast in the movie. I am one lucky guy to come across so many beautiful and talented women. I don't mean to discount Brian who was in the scene with the girls, but come on, who wants to look at some hairy guy sitting in a nest of hotties? I want to personally thank each and everyone who showed up for the shoot on Sunday. I had a very good time and things could not have gone smoother. I might just have to pursue getting a career as a Playboy photographer! It was a tremendous success and I'm starting to feel pretty good about the production and its future. Here is a quick gander at one of the hundreds of photos taken yesterday.
Brian, you have to feel pretty good about how you spent your Sunday. (Click Photo for proofs from shoot)
